Amusement Parks and Dinner Show:

  1. Santa's Land: Zoo, rides, children's delight.
  2. Ghost Town: Theme park on mountain top overlooking Maggie Valley. Many activities, all day outing.
  3. Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg: From campground, beautiful forty-five mile drive thru Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
  4. Dixie Stampede: Dinner Show located in Pigeon Forge. All the galloping glory of the wild 1800's, plus a fantastic more-than- you-can-eat feast. Fun for the entire family. Reservations required, (800) 356-1676.

Bingo:
     
Tribal Bingo - 7:00 PM nightly, with early bird & weekend specials. Highway 19, 4 miles from campground.

Casino:
     
Harrah's Cherokee Casino - 175,00 Sq. Ft. of excitement; 1,800 video games; 3 restaurants; 1,500 seat entertainment arena. 3 miles from campground.

Cherokee Indian Reservation:
     
Home of the eastern band of Cherokee Indians. Major attractions: Oconaluffee Indian Village; Indian Wax Museum; drama, Unto These Hills; Museum of the Cherokee Indian; trout fishing.

Country Music:
     
Smoky Mountain Jamboree - Family fun, 2 hour show, reservations recommended, 497-5521.

Gem Mining:
     
Gem fields once commercially mined, located in the Cowee Valley off highway 28 six miles north of Franklin.

Golf:
     
Smoky Mountains Golf Club - 18 hole, par 70 golf course will allow any player to experience mountain golf at its best. Reservations recommended. 6 miles from campground. Office can arrange tee times at discount rates.

Horseback Riding:
     
Guided trail rides in the national park. Reservations recommended.

Rafting:
     
White water rafting thru the beautiful Nantahala Gorge. Guided trips last three to four hours. Restriction - Children must weigh over 6O lbs, guided trips lO:OO AM & 2:OO PM. Reservations required.

Train Ride:
     
Different excursions to choose from, two trips per day, 9:00 AM & 2:00 PM. All excursions are round trip, three to four hours. Departs Dillsboro, Bryson City, or Andrews. Reservations required.

Tubing:
     
Fast moving mountain stream, inexpensive fun for the entire family. Bryson City.

Scenic Drives:

  1. The Blue Ridge Parkway: 469 toll free miles, ranked "America's most scenic drive" by leading travel writers.
  2. Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Beautiful 30 mile drive on highway 441 over mountains. Many quiet walkways and scenic overlooks. Visit Ranger station and consider side trip to Clingmans Dome or Cades Cove.
  3. Highlands: Waterfalls, lakes, and exquisite shops. Fifteen miles east of Franklin on highway 64.
  4. Fontana Dam: Highest dam (480 ft.) in TVA system impounds 30-mile-long Fontana Lake and has observation points and visitor center.
